Roles and Responsibilities
Jr. Data scientist will provide advisory, technical support and help to implement the labour market information system – the “one-window” dashboard.
The data scientist will support the data mapping, data validation and data cleaning.
Tasks may include a range from developing data management strategies to writing computer scripts and code to perform the data cleaning. Further, the data scientist should help to plan future developments of the labour market information system.
Data scientist will support the development of the one-window dashboard: including supporting its technical development and linkage with labour force data sources (and internal government data sources)
Skills Required:
Technical expertise regarding data models, database operations and management (particularly MS-SQL/Oracle databases), data validation and cleaning, and data mining.
Experience in systems integration, preferably for labour market information systems.
Experience in data validation and cleaning operations for up to millions of rows of data.
Experience in developing attractive dashboards, which can be used to visualize data from multiple sources.
Experience in validation and data cleaning software, business intelligence tools (e.g., Micro strategy).
Knowledge of data frameworks (e.g., Hadoop), R, SQL and Python; familiarity with Scala, Java or C++ will be an added advantage.
Knowledge of statistics and hand on experience using statistical packages for data analysis (Excel, SPSS, SAS, etc.).
